Understanding QiGong

According to Chinese medical philosophy, Qi is the life-force energy that circulates within our bodies and all around us in the air we breathe. QiGong and TaiQi are exercises used to build and harmonize this energy.

These time-tested practices—developed and refined over more than 2,000 years—serve as both gentle movement therapy and energy cultivation, offering a deeply restorative experience for the mind and body. They are foundational tools in traditional healing, helping to clear stagnation and restore the natural rhythm of the body’s energy systems.

Understanding TaiQi

TaiQi is another time-honored practice rooted in Chinese tradition. Originally developed as a martial art, it has evolved into a graceful system of slow, flowing movements that emphasize balance, control, and inner awareness. Like Qigong, TaiQi promotes the smooth circulation of qi, but it also integrates coordinated movement and structure, making it a moving meditation that strengthens both body and mind. Practicing TaiQi can improve posture, flexibility, and mental clarity, while also offering a sense of calm and groundedness.

Chris Tucker is the best acupuncturist on this planet. I've been treated by multiple acupuncturists (all great) but there is a remarkable difference with Chris. He has an intangible talent to decipher exactly what is going on in your body and a wealth of knowledge to treat it. His understanding of science and knowledge of anatomy rivals that of an MD... In fact, I'd argue he likely knows more. One review couldn't possibly express the magnitude of his talents and knowledge, so I urge you to discover them for yourself. Give Chris a visit... it will be the best decision you'll ever make.

After completely unhelpful chiropractic treatments post car accident, I went to Circulating Health for acupuncture. The treatment was phenomenal, and I felt immediate relief from my headache, had greater range of motion and more flexibility. I brought my son for the same and eventually my entire family. Years later, I continue to visit Circulating Health every 6 months or so for wellness tuning as I get older. I’m not just praising acupuncture as a stand alone treatment though, yes, it’s effective. I go to Circulating Health specifically for Chris Tucker’s holistic approach, capacity to be present with my healing process, and his wealth of knowledge on food healing & longevity.

I have been taking tai chi lessons 2-3 times a week from Chris Tucker for several years and I highly recommend them to everyone. These classes have been instrumental in my being able to maintain my strength and balance as I get older. An additional bonus, I enjoy my fellow students and look forward to each class. Carolyn

This has been my introduction to Tai Chi and Qi Gong and I’ve loved learning the practice from Chris Tucker. Chris effectively addresses many aspects of the discipline that are important to me - movement, balance, core strength, breath work, meditation, striving for inner calm in a turbulent world. I would highly recommend anyone study with Chris!!
